| Joy2Learn presents world-class visual and performing artists via
the Internet. Access to artists allows students and teachers to observe
real performances and related information. Educators may stream the
video directly, or download an entire CD of content. There is no
cost to schools.
Students or teachers may navigate through an exciting choice of
activities. These include performance videos, history, and multimedia
presentations that include images, information, and quiz games. The
information may be used in arts, history, and even technology classes.
Currently available are:
Theater with Hector Elizondo
Hector Elizondo,theater, television and movie star, introduces four plays: "I
Ought to Be in Pictures" by Neil Simon, "Cyrano de Bergerac" by Edmond Rostand, "Othello" by
William Shakespeare,and "Antigone" by Sophocles. He tells the stories, discusses
the authors, reveals personal thoughts on acting, and performs segments of
the masterpieces.
Music
(Piano) with Alan Gampel
At the Piano focuses on internationally renowned pianist Alan Gampel and his
exciting performances of Chopin's "Minute Waltz", Gershwin's "Prelude", Debussy's "Poisson
D'Or", Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Flight of the Bumblebee", and Stravinsky's "Firebird".
Students learn about the pieces, the composers, the pianist’s personal insights
and how a piano works.
