EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY NEWS -------------------------------------------------------------------- E2T2 Application Packet Released The Office of Educational Technology has released applications for the competitive grants to school districts through No Child Left Behind Title II D, also known as Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2). This application is part one of a two part competitive process. Through part one, school districts interested in forming a local educational support center in their region will be selected to work together with the NHDOE to develop consortia to apply through part two of the process. Up to ten teams will be selected as a result of part one. Up to four regional centers will be created by March 2003 as a result of part two. The vision is for ten centers to be created over the next five years throughout NH. For more information and a downloadable copy of the application packet, please go to http://www.nheon.org/oet/nclb.
The NH school building technology survey 2002 is ready for district staff to complete. If you are the designated building contact please go to http://www.nheon.org/oet/survey02/ to complete the survey for your school(s). Please note that the survey will be available for online entry from now until November 1, 2002.
Finally, we know that many of you are involved in writing the consolidated applications for your district. Please be aware that under the flexibility provisions in NCLB you may transfer up to 50% between certain titles. The funds allocated to school districts through the non-competitive portion of Title II Part D are limited and in many cases you may want to transfer dollars into Title II Part D to purchase hardware (an encouraged use of these dollars). If you need more information, please contact Chrys Bouvier at 603-271-8049 or cbouvier@ed.state.nh.us. Regards, *** Visit us on the NHEON.ORG web site at www.nheon.org |
